“We contracted with iBCScorp to help us with our magento website. They were very affordable and always responsive to my needs. They also did an SEO audit that was right on point. As an SEO expert myself, it was good working with a company that did not add any fluff.”  dawginc.com

Google Analytics Funnel Visualization as Analytics Funnel

Posted on: January 31st, 2011 by Lahiru Wijerathna No Comments
Google Analytics Funnel Visualization is the same as real funnel; It does the same funneling process. It’s a series of pages which visitors must pass to complete a journey in a specific web site. It visualize on visitor activity before reaching specific goal. As a real funnel, Google analytics funnel also has most volume with the funnel starting point, and it reduces along the path.Through Analytics Funnel visualization each and every successive page along the funnel path. It also shows Entrance and Abandon points specifically. Basically the idea of introducing funnel for your web site is to get the details of how efficiently and accurately direct your visitors through the web site. Google analytic funnel visualization describes how complicated and how hard or easy to use the specific page in you web site. Google analytic funnel is a complete analysis process. You can determine what the loosing factors are of your web site or specific web page. Such as page might not be designed well enough to be user-friendly or not efficient enough so that users don’t get enough information from this page. You might have lost lots of web site viewers from your site because of this page. Google analytic funnel is great solution to find these kind of matters. Google analytic funnel is optional part of Analytics goals. To set up analytic funnel visualization need to set up analytic goal first. Goal conversion path should be the last step of analytic funnel. Analytic funnel visualize how many visits comes to which part of the site. and how many visitors dropped along the path and which page. Introducing funnel to e-commerce site is a good idea. For example by integrating funnel , we can determine or explore what are the negative points without being buying. There are many reasons that will drop off visitors from a web site. Most cases filling out unnecessary forms might be the reason to lost your visitors. Through a analytic funnel it can visualize more identically. To visualize these types of things the Google analytic funnel might be the most appropriate tool. From this great tool you can track significant drops and reason for the lower conversion. Lets look how can we integrate this tool Log on to your analytic account with you analytic account user id and password. Now you are in profiles overview page Choose a website profile , and click edit Okay, now you are in the “Profile Settings:” page. In Profile Settings: page there is Goal section in middle of the page. There are four sets of goal and , for one set of goal you can add 5 goals and 5 funnels. All together 20 goals can be integrated to one profile, if you need more goals to be introduce with your website, you have to create more profiles. At there, click “Add Goal”. This will take you to the Goal page. Now you have to include goal information in this page so lets try to enter goal information. Enter goal name and click the radio button to “On” to activate the goal and set it’s position. The next important thing is goal type. We need to fix funnel so funnel visualization is most appropriate for the goal type, Url destination type. Select this goal type. There are more details to be filled under goal details, those are match type, goal url, and goal value. Match type is for types of matching url, the exact match option follows the exact url, the head match follows part of url with other dynamically generated characters. You can fill out goal value if you want to. Generically every goal follow a value. This is the idea behind goal value. After filling all necessary details, Then lets move to create funnel at the bottom of Goals. Now you can integrate funnel visualization. Keep in mind before forcing forward, Funnel has a specific path & this is a step by step process to reach a specific conversion. You can add as many steps as you need. Each and every step is to be unique and therefore, must point to a unique url. Follow these steps below to learn how to add a funnel: You can choose to make the first step in the funnel mandatory, by selecting the ‘Required step’ checkbox next to the funnel. If this checkbox is selected, users reaching your goal page without traveling through this funnel page will not be counted as conversions. Only users who reach the goal URL after viewing this first page will be counted as conversions. After doing these steps just press save. Log in to your account and select  the appropriate profile, in the left hand side there is “Goals”, under the goals menu , there is funnel visualization. Now you can see a nice funneling picture. Just like this. Google analytic funnel is one of the best ways that you can find errors, mismatches, or inefficient factors on you web site. I hope you enjoy Google analytic funnel.

iBCScorp.com works with Personnel Concepts to improve business

Posted on: October 12th, 2010 by James Cluff No Comments
Personnel Concepts personnelconcepts.com has been working with iBCSCorp over the last several months to help improve their online and offline business. Some of the things that have been accomplished include:
  • A/B testing work which improved conversion rates
  • Internal tools integrating Mysql and PHP with proprietary microsoft SQL databases.
  • Providing MSDS documents via the internet to their customers making it easier for them to comply with state and federal regulations.
Working with Brandon Chatham of PersonnelConcepts.com, ibcscorp was able to successfully implement a/b testing to improve pay per click (PPC) conversion rates improving ROI. This was a difficult project in the way a/b testing goes because a separate site was created, rather than just a splash page and the results of the entire site where tracked and evaluated. The results where very successful. iBCScorp was also able to implement an internal application so that a large sales floor could more easily enter phone orders. An open source based MYSQL PHP application pulls data from an SQL (Microsoft SQL) database at a separate location to simplify data entry and reduce errors. This is a really cool project because it integrates open source products with propriety microsoft products. One system uses Microsoft SQL on windows, the other, mysql on linux. Personnel Concepts is in the business of helping their customers comply with local and national employment related regulations.  One regulation is that an MSDS for any compounds used in an office or factory should be available. To help their clients comply with this regulation they worked with Internet Business Consulting Services Corporation (iBCScorp.com) to create an online tool for their clients to retrieve MSDS documents very quickly and easily. This tool was created using php, mysql, and soap. It will reduce the cost and remove a big headache for compliance officers around the country. Personnel Concepts is involved in online business and iBCScorp is working hard to continue to help them improve their products and services, expand their customer base and improve their profitability. Personnel Concepts shows a commitment to its clients by continuing to invest in making it easier for their clients to comply with state and federal regulations.  You can learn more about PersonnelConcepts.com by visiting their website at: personnelconcepts.com

How many links are there to my site

Posted on: November 13th, 2009 by James Cluff 1 Comment
Unfortunately the tools used to do this don’t always work perfectly, but a few simple ways to check the links to your site are: Checking your links on Google: link: yourdomainname example: link: ibcscorp.com on google Checking your links on Yahoo: (same way) link: your domain name example: link:ibcscorp.com on yahoo This is very trivial perhaps, but on Yahoo, if your site hasn’t been crawled or indexed or has no results, then you will get an error message. This will in turn give you the opportunity to submit your site for free to Yahoo. You have to have a Yahoo ID to do this it is kind of a pain. This will then put you in the cue to be crawled by Yahoo. I am sure if you wait long enough it will happen anyway, but if your site is new this will help speed things up. Even still they say to expect a delay of several weeks before your URL is crawled, unless you pay them 299 in which case they will do it in 7 days. Checking your links on Bing.com (was MSN.com) is again the same thing. link: your domain example: link:ibcscorp.com on bing Like Yahoo, if the page isn’t found, it can be entered at this point, again it may take some time for it to be indexed.

Determining where you are at for web marketing

Posted on: November 13th, 2009 by James Cluff 3 Comments
Before you start any program or set a goal; it doesn’t matter if it is an exercise program, weight loss program, or marketing program; you have to take baseline measurement of where you are. You also have to take measurements along the way in order to determine if what you are doing is working or not. Over the next several posts I will be reviewing tools which help determine your effectiveness on the web, and then how to put together a program to improve that.
