In 2011, iBCS was  entrusted with the task  of improving the search engine presence  of 1st Service Solutions, a CMBS loan modification and loan restructuring specialist company from Dallas, Texas. Working to a extremely tight deadline iBCS had to improve 1st Service Solutions‘ search engine listings for major keywords within just three months.  As daunting as it sounds iBCS managed to achieve the rankings and this is the story on how we did it.   Suffice to say, we didn’t achieve all these results by waving a magic wand but through sheer hard work and dedication of the iBCS SEO team. For three months, the team grafted away analyzing site HTML structure, fixing errors, re-generating sitemaps and re-submitting to Google, Yahoo and Bing search engines. We were constantly optimizing meta descriptions and meta keywords and last but certainly not least building links from other sites and conducting social bookmarking campaigns. We concentrated our efforts on local listings too. iBCS recognises the importance of getting sites listed locally as the capabilities of search engines on picking up your geographical location grows.   One of the most commonly used indicators of how a website is doing is “Alexa Ranking”.  The lower the ranking position in Alexa the higher your website is in popularity stakes. The ranking also indicates if a site has had any search engine optimization work done to it. Within the span of three months, 1st Service Solutions‘ position on Alexa rankings rocketed from 363,444 to 1,785,141.   Search engine traffic increased more than 75%, and pageviews also increased. In other words, visitors just didn’t arrive on the website and boomeranged off it! They stayed and explored the site. Another great indicator of popularity is the number of websites linking to your site, otherwise known as inbound links. The inbound links for 1st Service Solutions‘ site was on an upward trend too.   So at the end of the three months, with their main keywords listed on the first page results of Google, Yahoo and Bing 1st Service Solutions walked away in to the sunset happy. Well, metaphorically speaking they did! We are currently working on maintaining those rankings for them and getting more keywords on board and making them perform as well as the main ones.
