SilverStripe CMS

SilverStripe CMS was originally developed by SilverStripe Ltd a New Zealand web application development company. They open sourced their product knowing the benefits of open source software and because of this wise move, a fast growing community was start to gather around SilverStripe. Though it is relatively new player in CMS world compared to other prominent CMS solutions, the popularity is ever increasing.

Sapphire Web Framework

As we see, the power of SilverStripe lies on the Sapphire; the web framework on which the CMS is relies on. The nice thing is this framework can be used by the developers to extend the capabilities of the CMS and add new functionalities that don’t ship with the default set up. The way of doing this is straight forward and the codes are clear enough to read and understand. The framework is written in object oriented PHP and that brings lot of good things like reusability, reliability, robustness, extensibility, and maintainability.

Easy CMS

The SilverStripe CMS it self is very straight forward and easy to learn for even people who don’t have previous CMS experiences. Most of our clients once they login to the system, were able to use it without our instructions. The reason for this is the flow of content editing is easy to understand and the admin UI provides whole lot of good features blend with AJAX which make people love to work with SilverStripe.

Eye catching web sites

Another good point we see in SilverStripe is it does not impose any restrictions on the template system. Like in some other CMS solutions it doesn’t limit your creativity when designing the front end template.

What kind of web sites it is best suited?

From our previous SilverStripe expreeinces we feel that it is best suited for small and medium sized web sites/ applications. It may be a personal web site, a company web site, a blog, or a small scale online web store, SilverStripe can be used to built it quickly with the expected quality.

This is our very first SilverStripe work. This site was developed for Carolee Glaittli (artist & photographer) to showcase her art works and allow visitors to buy her painting through the web site.

We are working on several other SilverStripe web sites and they will eventually be lited here.
